This is the face of the man who was kicked out of a pet store due to claims he had been in the store countless times as the store’s supposed competitor, looking for intel. —

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around what to write here because I’m just left in shock.  He asked for a recommendation and didn’t buy anything immediately and was assumed to be a competitor.  He was told that this is harassment at this point even though it was his first time through the store’s doors.  Simply put, that’s no way to treat anyone let alone a customer.  If someone was in your store multiple times “harassing” you as you claim, wouldn’t you recognize them immediately and call the cops rather than wait to see if they buy your recommendation and THEN claim they must not be a customer when you see they don’t do so immediately?

A secondary issue is this is an Asian man.  To mistake him for someone else is to perpetuate the “all Asians look a like stereotype.” Not okay— it’s 2019.  Time to get woke and stay woke.

Thirdly, the store clerk claimed there was a video to prove Chris had been in his store before causing trouble.  Chris was open to seeing this video but none was brought out.  I wrote a letter to the business via email, yelp, google, and Facebook.  No response.  This says a lot about the business and how it carries its business.  A part of me wants to fight for an explanation, but no apology can take back the embarrassment that Chris experienced.  Someone already commented on my Facebook review saying the owner is super nice and helpful so they don’t see where I’m coming from.  This just tells me the store’s mistreatment is not just to everyone (hooray) but selective.  Not sure where to go from here but I also don’t want to fill myself with hate from this awful business.  So since the weekend we have been indulging in businesses that promote passion, inclusivity, and positivity.  To the business that carry themselves with dignity and care about its customers, you have no idea how some of your customers may need it most in times and experiences like this ❤️
