Mom & Dad
On cold mornings, my dad would put on one of his thicker jackets, go out into the car and "warm it up." He did this every morning before he drove us to school both for fuel efficiency and so by the time we were out the door, we were all ready to go. He would also heat up the second car so my mom could take to work while he took us to school. Right before I ran out the door, my mom would always ask if I needed money and squeeze a 10 or 20 into my hands (big money at that time!).
My parents and I have our differences, but they also have such unconditional love for me. I learned to be charitable, caring, and faithful through them. My sass, sarcasm and upfront personality comes from my mom. My leadership, diplomatic and mediative methods come from my dad. My mom was the sole economic provider of the household and my dad did the daily cooking, chores, and making sure we get from point A to point B for school and activities. They taught me that being different from the norm wasn't a bad thing, but instead my "jump into action as needed" comes from them.
The world and time is tough right now; fires, political devastation, and violence are so prominent. Help where you can, and remember to be kind and take care of yourself as needed.
